There are some scenarios in which you may wish to annul or cancel a tenancy agreement. You can do this by performing what's known as a 'tenancy surrender'.
We advise this process is followed when a contract has been signed, and the tenants and landlord subsequently agree to change it, e.g. so that the move-in date can be changed.
We also require it to be followed where a signed tenancy is not going ahead, so that OpenRent has clear instruction on how client funds should be handled.
What is the process?
All parties should sign a surrender to annul the original signed contract, to avoid potential future confusion from having multiple contracts in force.
We cannot draft the document for you, but we provide an example template for your reference in the attached document. There is no electronic signing facility for this document, so you will need to print and sign a physical copy of this document.
If you have been guided to this process by the website or customer support team, then the next steps should hopefully be clear. If not, feel free to drop us a message using the 'Need Help' option on any website page here.
