The Rent Now system is designed so that only one set of tenants can apply for a property at a time.
Tenants applying for a property via Rent Now place a holding deposit and only get this money back if the landlord cancels or rejects their application. If they pull out or change their mind, their money is forfeit to the landlord, so they pay this money to demonstrate they are making a serious application and that they are no longer considering other properties. In exchange, tenants know that they will be able to take the property subject to referencing and the landlord approving their application.
Referencing Multiple Groups at Once
We know there can be several good candidates for a property and you'll be reluctant to turn away your second or third choice. We're happy for you to reference other groups of tenants, but you'll need to do this at your own expense.
You can order standalone referencing for £20 per applicant.
You'll most probably accept your primary tenants within the Rent Now process if their references are good. To be fair to other tenants, we ask that you let them know that they may not be successful even if all their references pass.
We think it's best when everything is open!
