The "lead tenant" in a Rent Now application is the person who starts the application by paying the holding deposit.
It is important that the lead tenant intends to be living at the property - i.e. they won't be acting as a guarantor.
The lead tenant will be the main point of contact for OpenRent during the tenancy set up - for example the lead tenant will be responsible for adding any guarantors to the application. Additionally, the lead tenant will be our main point of contact if the tenancy set up falls through, at any point.
The lead tenant role does not affect referencing or the tenancy agreement (contract). All tenants are jointly and severally liable - meaning they have the same obligation, whether lead tenant or not.
