If you’re seeing borders on your property photos, it’s because the photos has been uploaded at an aspect ratio that is less common, or the photos you uploaded had borders themselves. This can be a result of cropping photos, taking portrait photos, using panorama or other features that alter the aspect ratio.
The property portals (e.g. Rightmove, Zoopla, etc.) need your photos to be landscape (i.e. horizontal). This is the way they are built. If you upload a photo that is portrait (vertical), then it will have large black borders added to it, so that it 'fits' onto the portal.
The optimum ratio for photos of width-to-height is 3:2. Where photos do not fit this ratio, black borders are automatically added to make them fit this ratio.
If you upload photos with a width to height ratio of 3:2, black borders will not be added.
If you purchase our Professional Photography, then we will take photos that are automatically optimised for the property portals, so that your property looks perfect on every website.
