Yes, this is covered for you when using Rent Now. The prescribed information is contained in the tenancy agreement which all parties sign, including:
- details of the deposit amount
- where it will be protected
- how it will be treated
We also double down on this by sending the tenants an email as soon as the deposit has been protected re-iterating all the required information and attaching a copy of the government approved deposit protection scheme's terms and conditions.
Your tenants are also provided with a copy of the government's 'How to Rent' guide in that same email.
We copy you in to this email at the time of sending, and you can find it in your inbox by searching for the title 'Deposit has been protected - save the following details for your records'.
It's worth noting that the law states that the information needs to be provided to the relevant parties. The contract provided within Rent Now, along with our terms, allows this to be done electronically and as such printed & signed forms are not necessary.
