Great news! You've placed your first OpenRent advert. You might be wondering what happens next for your advert and how your property will be shown on our partner portals.
When will my property be live?
Approval of your advert will be completed within a working day of you having listed it.
Your property will be live on OpenRent.co.uk within an hour after it is approved.
If you have chosen our Ultimate Advertising or Rent Now packages, it will also be live on our partner portals 3-6 hours after it is approved. Gumtree may take a little longer as it has a slightly slower update time of up to 36 hours.
My property is live on the portals but my description or photos aren't the same, why?
All photos and descriptions will show on the portals within 3-6 hours of your advert having been approved. As long as your description meets the description guidelines it will be shown on the portals within the allocated time.
If it doesn't match the guidelines, we use a standardised text to go onto the portals. Over thousands of properties, we've found this makes our adverts perform better on average (tenants get the information they're more interested in quickly), helping you find the right tenants faster.
In order to maximise your enquiries we make sure an outline of your listing appears on the portals as quickly as possible. This doesn't always include all photos, and often uses an auto-generated description. Where this happens please wait for the advert to be fully approved for the rest of the details to follow.
However, we appreciate every landlord is different. If you'd prefer us to only publish your advert when the photos and description have been approved, you can update your publishing preferences here.
I've recently edited my advert, why aren't the edits showing up across all the portals?
If you've saved your edits they will show across the portals 3-6 hours after approval.
What is proof of ownership?
Sometimes the portals will ask for proof of ownership for a property to ensure you are the owner or have the owner's permission to advertise a property.
Specifically, acceptable documentation to show you own the property is any one of the following:
- Land Registry Title
- Insurance Certificate
- Signed Letter from Solicitor (Completion Letter / Confirming Ownership)
- Mortgage Letter
You can upload this straight to your advert (it will not be visible to the public) and this can be stored on your account in case you ever need to re-advertise.
