If you’re living in a property under a lodger agreement, or hosting a lodger in your home, it’s important to know how the agreement can be ended.
Notice Period
Our Lodger Agreement allows either party to serve four weeks' notice at any time.
Breach of Agreement
If the lodger breaks the terms of the agreement (for example, by failing to pay rent or causing serious disturbance), the landlord/licensor may serve a two-week notice to end the agreement early.
Serving Notice
We recommend that all notice is given in writing, with the date clearly stated. This helps avoid confusion and provides a record for both parties.
