If your landlord has enabled Rent Collection, you’ll pay your rent directly to OpenRent. We’ll then transfer it to your landlord once we’ve received the payment.
How do I pay my rent each month?
Rent payments must be made by bank transfer using the account details shown onsite when you are logged into your OpenRent account.
You can find these details by:
- Going to the Rent Now Tenancies page
- Selecting 'Manage', then 'Rent Collection' from the dropdown menu.
On this page you can find:
- The account name, number and sort code.
- Your unique payment reference (it’s important to use this every time so we can match your payment)
- The date your rent is due.
We recommend setting up a standing order so your rent is paid automatically each month. You can find more information on how to set this up here.
Can I pay by debit or credit card?
No, rent payments can only be made by UK bank transfer.
Can I pay on the OpenRent website?
No, there isn’t an option to make payments directly on our website. Rent payments must be made using your online banking, mobile banking app, or by visiting your bank in person.
Who should I make the payment to?
If Rent Collection has been enabled, all rent payments should be made to OpenRent using the details shown onsite. We’ll send the rent to your landlord automatically once it’s been received. If your landlord shares different bank details and prefers for you to pay them directly, they’ll need to disable Rent Collection from their account.
